It's That Time Again

Our first snow fell yesterday afternoon so, in accordance with the old tradition that says to walk barefoot in the first snow for good health in the coming year, I did just that.

So far it's worked pretty well.

And only the day before, the flowering quince thought it was spring.  John cut some branches for me so we can enjoy the blooms in the warmth of the house.

They'll look nice. I think, mixed in with the usual Christmas evergreens.

Ooooh, you had snow! My buddy in Tennessee said they had a tiny bit, too.

Nice not to have to think about health for a while. ;-)
The quince is flowering too in our yard... How strange.

Great! Good wishes and cold toes for good health. Our snow didn't stick...but then I didn't go out to see. Brr, it's finally more like winter here!

Don't know what we can do out here in Southern California? Maybe walk barefooted in a mud puddle if we could get some rain to make a mud puddle.

Pretty snow and not too much of it. A good start to a story, those footprints?
The flowering quince is very pretty.
