Out the back door, looking north. . .
From the dining room windows looking east . . .
And from the kitchen, looking east and south . . .
We woke Tuesday morning to a world of snow.
By mid afternoon, it was over...
And the clouds were moving away.
My agent is enthusiastic about my proposal and has sent it on to Herself ...
now for more waiting.
I'm crossing my fingers that Herself likes the proposal.
The pictures of the snow are beautiful! We got a goodly amount of rain a couple of days ago, but no snow. For the next week our highs are supposed to be in the
50's ... very odd!
Wonderful photos, I love your snowscapes.
I send you my very best wishes for your new book proposal, that herself will agree with your agent.
I don't think we got quite as much snow as you, but the cold and wind has been most unpleasant!
Best of luck, girl!
I couldn't think of a better place to do your waiting ... you live on top of the world and in a virtual wonder land.
Here's hoping all goes well with your proposal/Herself.
enjoy the wait and dont let it weigh on you...your pics of the window are amazing...the world dressed in white...
Beautiful photos! Makes me *almost* wish for those days when I lived up on a mountain. If only there was a "vehicle lift" (think ski lift) that could transport the vehicle safely down to the bottom on days like this... :) Good luck with the waiting. I'm going to have to go back through the archives to discover how Herself got her name!
Fingers crossed for you.
The snow looks amazing I hope your house is lovely and snug though!
I hope everything goes well with the book. The photo of the snowy gate was beautiful, really love it.
Congratulations on the proposal. Looking forward to new possibilities and a new story in the works.
I got cold, just looking at the pictures.... How beautiful! And best of luck with the new book proposal!
Snow = yuck
Beautiful photos! Good luck on your book proposal!
In between rubbing my hands, to keep them warm, I'm crossing my fingers for your proposal.
It's milder here today...1 degree!
Wonderful photos! The views from your window seems to illustrate a fairy tale.
Good luck for the proposal!
Well-good news so far! I'll keep my fingers crossed to : )
It looks very scenic, I love the gate.
Beautiful photographs. I'm ready for "normal" temperatures.
Good luck in your waiting game.
Finished book 1. Life kind of stays the same in some ways. I remember my mom once saying to me when I didn't think she could POSSIBLY understand a situation "You young people all think that YOU invented sex!" LOL. But the story of Little Sylvie and so many women today are the SAME. Just tragic. And the themes you explore really are the same today! Do humans ever learn from history or the past?
Started book 2. (I think I bought them all at that wonderful bookstore Malaprops. I could hang out there for hours...
I love the light that filters through your house.
Me too, NCmountainwoman! I think it's supposed to get to the forties today. I hope so -- our driveway up near the house is still way too slick.
Isn't Malaprop's great, Margaret! And no, I don't think we are very good at learning from the past. We all think that somehow things will be different for US because we're so unique.
ARGH!!! Can't pick a favorite photo.
Fingers crossed for Herself to say YES!
I was at an art exhibition opening and dinner last night, and when I walked out of the restaurant at midnight, it began snowing and by the time I was home half an hour later, about two inches of snow had fallen.
Good luck with your book proposal!
All this time, I thought "Herself" was your agent. So, Herself is your editor? Does the editor give the ideas to your agent, who then gives them to you?
Dana, Yes, Herself is my editor. Back in October, she and I discussed ideas for the next book.
Then I took those ideas and came up with a proposal for the next book. I sent this proposal to my agent for her comments and suggestions and, after I'd tweaked the proposal a bit more, my agent sent it on to Herself.
Since I'm not under contract at this point for a seventh book, I don't deal directly with Herself.(Publishing etiquette -- I don't understand it either.)
