Martin Luther King Day -- Words for a Dark Time

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

"If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward."

"Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle."

Individually we may not be able to do much, but collectively we can do a great deal. We can move mountains.

Thank you. A note about blogger and face book posts. I've found a way around the posting of the first comment on facebook when I transfer the URL. Get up early and post it before there are any comments! Or, edit the fb post, deleting the link, then adding it, which requires adding any photos back again separately. I'm monitoring my comments on blogger, so have the choice to not let them post before doing the fb transfer. Aren't they fun little guys to play with?

These are good quotes. Here is one of my favorites: “He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.”- Martin Luther King, Jr.
