No, Martin, we haven't had trick or treaters since my boys were small. Back then our group of mothers would drive the kids around to our different house and end up at one for a party. Since we live pretty far apart it took a long time. Nowadays, it seems that kids just go into town and visit the various merchants who have candy ready.
Halloween when I was a kid (back in the Fifties and in a relatively safe suburb)was WONDERFUL! We ranged up and down several blocks, visiting house after house and often receiving excellent homemade treats.
Therese -- that first shot was a lucky accident -- a combination of sun and shadow that I didn't see til it was on the computer.

Trick or treat! Only the brave or foolhardy would venture out once seeing that first photo.
