- I'm the author of The Elizabeth Goodweather Appalachian Mysteries from Bantam Dell. The series includes SIGNS IN THE BLOOD (LA MONTAGNE DES SECRETS in France), ART'S BLOOD, (LE SECRET DES APPALACHES in France,) OLD WOUNDS,IN A DARK SEASON (Anthony Nominee, Best PBO), and UNDER THE SKIN. There's also THE DAY OF SMALL THINGS (a spinoff/standalone)chronicling the unexpected life story of Miss Birdie, one of Elizabeth's neighbors. I came to this weird business late (my first novel was published in 2005) and am still trying to figure it out. As my novels are set in a place much like my real life home, I thought I'd use this blog to share pictures of our farm and county. I've been blogging for over four years now, on an almost daily basis, and the topics have ranged from writing, chickens, food, books, quilts, flora and fauna of all sorts, to the occasional tiny rant. Hahaha, that last one broke the theme you had going, just a little bit. Hope she just collecting.
They are all the same that way, aren't they? Shoes, slippers, socks...anything that has your smell on it. She is such a pretty girl, Vicki! It's clear she has already stolen your heart completely! Your pictures are superb!! I will come back again to enjoy them often.
Willa was mostly collecting -- she did distress the brim of the cap just a tad... but she has, indeed, stolen our hearts.
You can only be in one place at a time, Vicki. The pictures are magnificent.

These are wonderful shots Vicki! That first one is perfect. Little Willa looks like she's a perfect fit in your household! Some people pay good money for items like hats and blue jeans that are already distressed!

The fifth picture is the road from our house, heading down to the mailbox. Those are some of our cows on the left. It's a half mile from the mailbox up the road to our house.
I bet Willa had a blast entertaining herself while you were out and about. Lovely fall photos!
