Snowy Feet...

Appalachian folklore says that if you walk barefoot in the first snow of the season, you'll be healthy all year.

I've done my part.

Snow already?! I hope you had something or someone to warm the toes on when you came back in.

Vicki -- Last night was your turn for the first snowfall -- now tonight is our turn in KY. I'll try the barefoot in the snow trick if it does snow -- sounds like a fun thing to do. -- barbara

Wow. Snow already? It's so early to be cold. It's chilly here at Myrtle too. But it's still a heck of a lot better than living in CT.

It snowed Friday night and I posted as soon as I came back in, dried off my feet, and got my socks back on. My reward was the fire John built to celebrate the first snow.

It seems a little early -- but who can explain the weather anymore?

Hope you have a much better winter time than last year... all that snow, my gosh!!
I imagine you will have lots of time to write now that snow covers all you normally do at your farm.
Nice the steps on the snow.

No snow at my house on this side of the mountain, but looking at the higher, far off mountains, I can see a light dusting. Cute picture!

Lucky you!!!!! MM built the first fire in the Waterford, but we never got the snow. Cold, though; 26 this a.m.

I will continue this folklore. Thanks for sharing. I thought I was just crazy to do this. Now I know I'm amongst many!

Can't believe you've got snow already. Wow.

You have SNOW? Good grief. It's just cold here, but clear. Suppose to warm back up next week. I do have the woodstove going 'semi-permanent' now.

I'm trying to work out if it was a celebratory dance or not !!

Looks like a drunken sailor staggering through the snow but it was me, taking a wide stance so as not to slip and fall.

Vicki love your footprints in the snow! Wish it would snow in Florida so I could do it too! We had a little bit in Febuary just north of where I live.

I'm putting that on my list!

Oh my goodness! I haven't even considered snow yet. I'll have to remember the folklore and do my part, though, when the first snow flies.

It's odd you've had your first snowfall and we haven't in Illinois. There is no explaining the weather any more. I will be walking barefoot in our first snow this year, it's worth a try!

Snow!! You're doing the converse of a fire walk there. Brave soul.
