At Autumn's End

Miss Susie Hutchins soaks up the sun...
The little maple clings to its last leaf...
Justin picks the last peppers before a potential frost...
Kate's sleek summer coat is growing shaggy...

And I can't resist another pear leaf --
with its Mondrian style ...

Within the past few days there seems to be more of a fall feeling in the air. Neat pictures.

seems you might be getting a bit of snow this weekend. Lovely pics! Kate is so cute!

I like the look of the web page - I haven't explored beyond the home page but it is elegant and streamlined.

We, too, have picked the last of the peppers and now I'm watching a soft autumn rain bring down some clinging leaves. My dog is now seeking out the sunny spots to sleep in instead of the cool tile floor.

And this morning it's raining with a possibility of snow tonight.

Love the sleep fat, walk thin, Joan. Wish I could master that trick.

My new web site is up but not complete yet -- thanks for taking a look, Karen. Still stuff to tweak and add...

Beautiful post. I think we all have mixed feelings about the lovely days. Of course our lovely days this week are not so lovely.

I loved Miss Susie Hutchins soaking up the sun. My son says he is jealous when he sees his cat sunning. He knows that he will never be so relaxed and content as his cat.

Yep, unlike dogs and people, who worry and anticipate, cats live in the eternal Now.

Great pics. Vicki. Thanks for sharing. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Ah, yes....the curtain is closing on our prolonged summer/fall! I get to where I am a little "antsy" wanting a dash of winter, and find myself not wanting to hear still another forecast of temperatures in the 70's and sun, sun, sun. No more...until next year! I'm ready for seasonal change!

Loved that post because:
Love donkeys,
love Mondrian and abstract art
love the colours of the trees at the moment.
Felt hungry looking at the pepper baskets, so neat by the way - well done Justin.
Cat looks just like my Sparkle.
so, great post Vicki
By the way, almost finished 'Signs in the Blood' My goodness, did I feel sorry for Little Sylve today!
Blessings, Star

Kate looks sad to see Summer disappearing from view.

How sad, it will soon be all over. But the autumn was so great this year, I shall et the thought of it sustain me for a while longer.

Awe ... I'm in love with your cat and your donkey.

You have a donkey!!! I'm hunting you down, and kidnapping your donkey. Jim and I take the county road into Lexington instead of 75 just so we can go by one farm that has donkeys corralled near the road.

We may have snow showers tonight. And I can't talk Nikki cat into coming inside. Of course I've made him an insulated tent with an outdoor pet heating pad nest, so why would he?

Kate definitely has personality. We picked our last tomatoes this week. I'm not sure why they kept producing this late in the season, but not complaining!

I notice Miss Susie is lying on top of something that does not appear comfortable - typical cat - probably thinks its something you might want or need to use! By the way, in recent pictures (calf being born and potato digging) I noticed what appeared to be new dogs. How about a blog one day to update us on the dog and cat population on the farm, complete with names and pictures please?

Busy, busy over here, Barb -- looking forward to quieter days ahead -- once jury duty is over.

We may have snow tonight, Elora...

Miss S H says that not only is she adorable, Suz, she is also perfect in every way.

Jill - I think donkeys have such sweet faces -- but Kate's personality is more feisty than sweet.

Star - Glad you're enjoying SIGNS!

Wow, lots of donkey lovers out there. Just stop by and wave some carrots around and Kate will be happy to see you.

Gwen -- Hutchins is lying on some dried up morning glory vines. When inside, she favors clean clothes that I'm trying to fold and put away or the laptop when I'm using it.

I'll do a post soon with a dog and cat census!
