My son Ethan brought this quote from Mick Herron's BAD ACTORS to my attention.
"Keyboards were weaponized, trolls emerged from under bridges, and somewhere along the way, free elections turned into free-for-alls, as if democracy were a shaggy dog story to which a joke president was the punchline.
All those decades of the arms race and it turned out there was no greater damage you could inflict on a state than to ensure it was led by an idiot."
Yep.

Evolutionarily, we were not ready for social media. I do not include blogging in that observation.
A friend actually posts on FB using the public rather than private setting. And she's found old high school friends by having done so. She is quite pleased! I'd say she has used social media for its good intended purpose.
I enjoyed FB and also found many old high school friends. But when the mysterious 'they' suspended my account for no discernible reason, I decided to try life without FB and so far, it suits me.
A prescient quote.
I miss you there, Vicki.
