What a feast in your "backyard"!
I thought they were tamaracks at first. Do you have tamaracks down thataway? (Coniferous trees that are also deciduous. Their needles change and drop.)
No tamaracks down here so far as I know. The only deciduous conifers I know of are Dawn Redwoods and they aren't native.
Maybe they are promises of colors in the spring
