They never leave our hearts, do they? My mom makes ornaments from photos of every family pet and has a tree for just the animals. It's always a happy/sad thing to look at.
I know that feeling. We never stop missing them, we never stop loving them, and we never stop being grateful for the years they spent with us. Such precious memories.
Ah, beautiful friends, well remembered. These are the little ones we cared for in this lifetime...maybe they'll take care of us and return the love in another one.
Oh my Vicki, So many little friends that have left you this past year or so. I hadn't realized so many until seeing all their precious faces in the pictures. My heart goes out to you, and I know their memories will always bless you. Tammy
Ah yes, thoughts at this time of year inevitably turn to those we lost and still love. But we can also ready a space in our hearts for those we don't yet know and will one day love - animal or human.
I love you putting this blog together. It's sad, also wonderful - so much love, so many stories. And the animals seem (projection I'm sure) to enjoy the season - fireplace blazing and people around for long walks. I hope you get the tango shoes for Christmas. Katy

I'm sure you miss them very much Vicki, especially at Christmas. I too have a list of missings. They give so much and take so little don't they!
ah, i can def see why....its good to remember them though as they were family...
Ahhh ... what lovelies ... isn't is amazing the love and joy, wisdom and lessons they bring to our lives? They are furry guardian angels.
One thing I know for sure, they had a wonderful life with you and your family.
Hugs,
Merisi
I have some I miss, too, as well as some humans.
oh heartache
I've never stopped missing my babies and it's been years. Bittersweet memories at the end of the year.
Hope your knee is doing better by the day.

We never get over them do we? They're with us for such a short time really, and yet they dig their way so deep into our hearts.

It is heartbreaking to lose our four-legged friends. What a great tribute to them.
