Back in the Corn

The second tier of corn is mostly ripe now and I harvested a gracious plenty yesterday.

It's a pleasure to sit on the porch and shuck the ears.

Most got blanched, cut off the cob, and put in the freezer. But I saved out some for supper.

John's pronouncement regarding the corn he was eating: "If God made anything better than this, He kept it for Himself."

That looks like a very fine supper.

I like John's pronouncement on the corn. It's like honey when fresh like that. Which we seldom get off a grocers display. But I'm glad you had such a good harvest. You'll enjoy it while sitting by the fire in a few more months.

Looks wonderful Vicki! I like to see recipes from your part of the world because then I can replicate them for Larry. As an American, from the south, transplanted into our English land, I'm sure he must miss a lot of things that he once enjoyed. Keep the recipes coming...

That looks very tasty. I love corn but it doesn't love me! So I rarely eat it.
