From My Window

Beyond my window
A corps de ballet of trees
Sways in the cold wind.

And thank goodness for the window! My roommate in the other bed seems to enjoy looking out the door into the hallway to see who's passing. Not me -- I keep the dividing curtain mostly drawn to afford myself some semblance of privacy and to block the constant flicker of her television.

Watching the light move on the trees, giving my eyes some distance to focus on -- these things make me feel close to normal.

While people watching can be entertaining, looking at nature is healing and soothing. I'd be staring out the window as well. Actually, I am often anyway!

I have been impressed with your positive mental attitude during this incarceration. I am hoping that your time in confinement will soon be winding down.

Seeing birds at a bird feeder or bird bath, watching flowers and trees....it is absolutely a daily balm that calms everything. Some doctors prescribe nature, but I wish more did :^)

Good to see what you see! I like being somewhat farsighted. I have always loved looking into the farthest distance available...so whether it's clouds or just the tree or flower furthest away, that's where my eyes are drawn. Glad you've got the three trees. Have you named them yet?

The little things in life mean so much especially during the hard times. This too shall pass sweet friend. Think of you every day, sending all good thoughts and much love. Hang in there lovely lady, let your imagination soar over the tree tops. xoxo

So happy you have a view of trees! Have you been given a time frame yet for going home? I have felt so blessed that at least my brokenness still allowed me to recuperate at home -- even if it's been primarily sitting on my butt while hubby is at work all day. Here's to your speedy healing!!!

Darla, I go for x-rays on the 28th. I f my ankle is healed so that it can be weight bearing, the as soon as I can navigate with a walker, I can go home.

I'm glad you have a view of beautiful trees, Vicki...much more healing, I think, than looking at people. I hope that ankle heals super fast, and you become a whiz at using a walker so you can go home soon.

What a tonic for your healing. A good dose of trees and clouds will surely blow your cares away and help you heal.
