Where?!?

Five chapters to go!  I am done with Shelton Laurel and the three Shelton Laurel/East Tennessee characters. Their story lines are complete. (I had already written their closing chapters some time ago.)

But Decatur, Arkansas? Bet you didn't see that coming.

That's where Col. Allen and his wife Polly (one of my five characters) moved in 1864. So on to my next chapter which is set in 1865 in Benton County and what will become Decatur. . .

Looks like a pretty wild and crazy place!

Don't faint. My son guilted me tonight in realizing the value of blogging. I had to read back a ways (as in l o n g ways). I've missed a lot. Am looking forward to reading you newest work of art. Your blackberries were a ways ahead of mine and I had to pick mine red in order to beat the blue jays but I have blackberries!!! Missed reading your blog. Will try to be a bit more faithful.

Congrats on getting close to finishing the book! And, hey, Decatur, AR, is in my neck of the woods -- the Ozarks of NW Arkansas and SW Missouri. :) By the way, did you already know that Decatur was a "sundown town"?
