Trapped in 1866 . . . . .

. . . and trying to wrestle some ornery characters into submission.

Keep me in your thoughts -- 6 chapters to go.

Good old maps. Enjoy being trapped and enjoy getting yourself extricated.

Keep on wrestling, Vicki. Perhaps Mother Nature may become your teammate? What season is it in the story's plot?

In the chapter I'm currently wrestling with it's December == with a flashback to October. The novel itself stretches from 1861 to !900 with much of the action in '63 and '69.

Thanks Vicki. I can see lots of falling leaves...and even an early frost. Someone might be chilled, unintentionally soaked, perhaps slipped on a mountain path, some fire has gone out. Cloudy, there is no moonlight, it will be full in a week. Someone might be alone with his thoughts, or wishing to be. A sound in the night made by someone who was having a bad dream. Now awake, thinking. Lost friends. Lost causes.

Please forgive me for offering you cliches on a tray. In the dark. xo
