Spring Trees Float Like Apparitions

Wish my place look so nice. Bet it would sell faster, too. It's in such bad shape from lack of care and much too far away for us to give it the love and attention it needs. *sigh

I love how spring has paused (from the cold probably) at the point tree tops are in leaf, and the greening of the mountains has also slowed. Some years it happens during a rain and I miss it completely. This year it's nice and slow (around here anyway.) Lovely photos!

I do love the various muted shades of colors and greens in Spring. Lovely photographs.

Fourth one down is my favorite. The vertical tree trunks and the lacey white blooms on the dogwood? Tree. How very pretty.

Vicki, what a poetic phrase you have there. I love the photos of the floating spring foliage. Happy spring to you.

I love your floating spring trees. I saw some also on top of Kennesaw Mountain yesterday – they just seemed to have suddenly become light green.

I read your previous post. It makes me so sad to hear about North Carolina – such a beautiful state but with so many hateful people, unfortunately. I say that because many had to vote to get that bigoted governor. This is a free country, and as Abraham Lincoln I believe said (learnt while I was taking my exam for US citizenship) it is a Government of the people, by the people, for the people … As Sam Hoffer said above, after the 60s I thought the US would become more liberal and have more of a social conscience, like in Europe. But with passing years, and excessive religion it has gone the other way. It will go back again the other way, hopefully, but not in my life time, I don’t think. Too many young people are also bigoted. It reminds me about the day (summer of 2012) when everyone decided to boycott the chain Chick-Fil-A because its owner, Atlanta billionaire S. Truett Cathy, had given millions to homophobic causes. That day, I was surprised to see cars lining up to the Chick-Fil-A near us, all the way down the highway. They were mostly young people showing their support against gay people. That really upset me, to see young people with so much hate. I had never eaten there and never will.
