Despite the fact that it's been windows-open warm, we have been hauling out the Christmas stuff, polishing brass candlesticks, and setting red candles in those candlesticks . . .
Christmas lights are bedecking the living room . . .
And last night Claui and Justin came up to help string the popcorn and to make a start on decorating the tree.(They also fixed dinner -- are we lucky or what?)
The rest -- and there's a lot of it -- will get added over the next few days -- for now the tree is tastefully spare.

I miss times like this, when my kids were around and decorating was a family thing. I don't even bother anymore.
On a different subject, your radio simulcast yesterday was great. Your enthusiasm for the people and places of western NC came through in your reading and brought me back to my youth.
Thanks Vicki.
Love the tree-topper angel poppet. And that's a very nice tree!
I love the look of red candles at Christmas! You've reminded me of how I used to help my Mom polish silver before Christmas. Lovely memory. xo
Beautiful. And inspiring. I'm ready to get decorating!
Layla looks eager to help too. Especially if John should drop a piece of popcorn! :-) Love the decorations! Merry Christmas!

Your tree looks wonderful. You brought back memories when we used to string popcorn. That was a long time ago for me. It looks so great on the tree. Snow will come when you least expect it.
That must be a time-honoured tradition -- stringing popcorn.
Everything to feel grateful for.
