At the Winter Solstice

The sun's in the South, the days lengthen fast,
Soon we shall sing of the winter that's past;

But now light the candles, rejoice as they burn,
And dance our dance of the sun's return.

(Traditional Celtic verse)

Ready for it to not get dark SO darn early. Getting warm here again. Looks like we will have the AC on for Christmas.

Somewhat unfortunately, the days lengthen rather slowly. :(

Happy solstice.

Yes indeed, Happy Solstice everyone. Solstice comes out here in Calif. @ 8:48 PM tonight. Summer solstice comes now for those down on the bottom side of the globe.

I like that verse very much, Vicki. The Solstice is a very special day. I like the idea of dancing to celebrate the return of sunlight.

Happy Christmas! xo

Blessings at Yule Vicki. Here in my part of England we have a beautiful clear sky . It is dark and the night comes.

It's been a dark and clouded day here. Perfect for reflecting on the season's turning. And for making soup and wrapping presents and doing a few last Christmas cards.

Dancing with joy here. Strange weather. Dark, misty, cloudy, and far too warm.
