An opening tulip brims with morning light,
Holding the day in its fragile bowl.
The pear's gray branches burgeon green and white . . .
Holding the day in its fragile bowl.
The pear's gray branches burgeon green and white . . .
And, as the day rolls on, shadows lengthen . . .
Troops of young trees salute the evening sun . . .
And one by one, tulips fold their curving petals,
Making ready for the night.

That was beautiful, Vicki. I love the line "holding the day in its fragile bowl." And the photos are gorgeous!
Beautiful springtime pictures ... I love having color and beauty back again!
A soft and gentle commentary on that which we can so easily miss.
Beautiful photos, and beautiful words to go with them!
Mmm...glorious pics!
Great photos and words, Vicki!
I love the line "Troops of young trees salute the evening sun" Beautiful!
The tulips didn't take long to come out did they? Just as soon as they saw the sun, out they came and very welcome too.
Blessings, Star
These pictures were taken Wednesday -- and it was so warm that I was afraid everything was going to zip through its bloom cycle and be gone. Today, thank goodness it's cooler and we're having some welcome rain -- which may prolong those sweet spring blooms a bit.
Vicki
Beautiful photos and beautiful words accompanying them -- love looking at flowers and trees and bumblebees,
Joanny
It is such a beautiful time of the year. I am anxious to see my tulips bloom.
It looks beautiful. Unbelievable that I am huddled up in a comofortable; the heat's on; and the temperature is going down in the thirties in the Chicago area tonight. It's supposed to be 80 degrees next week. I do have flowers outside, hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips.
comforter. I can't believe I spelled that so wrong. Maybe my hands are frozen.
Springtime really is a time of renewal...including my soul. Your post just helped Mother Nature to spread the word!
Pretty pretty-and this spring has been a hot one for sure.
Thanks, Joanny! I wish I could include the spicy-sweet scent of viburnum that is wafting in the air just now!
LD -- I bet your tulips will be along soon!
And Jon Lee -- has it warmed up yet? We had a freeze warning yesterday but it didn't happen.
After our winter, we are in need of some renewal and this Spring is doing it well, Lisa!
It was nice today, Tipper -- in the 70's -- which is just about perfect, as far as I'm concerned.
