Now THAT's a CAKE!!!

We celebrated Ethan's birthday with a steak dinner at our house last night. Aileen, Ethan's wife had told me that she would bring the dessert and I was delighted. Aileen is especially good at desserts and I knew this would be special.

Then there was a call from Ethan, a few hours before dinner time. "It's about the cake . . ."he began and I immediately envisioned the worst. "It won't fit in the cake carrier," he went on, "so we'll have to have dessert down here."

So that's what we did. After supper, we all headed down the road to Ethan and Aileen's house and when we walked into the dining room, we understood.

Now that's a Cake !!!

We gazed in awe . . .

This was a 'small' slice. The filling is heavy cream and chocolate with raspberry jam; the icing is whipped cream and cream cheese; chopped pecans decorate the sides and tiny fruit candies are on the top. And that's homemade raspberry ice cream on the side -- I told you Aileen is good at dessert!

Now, I don't usually like raspberry, but looking at this cake, I'd have to give it a try. WOW!
