1. Fox pundit turned Secretary of Defense War Pete Hegseth summons all top level brass to DC for a pep talk.
2. Hegseth announces that the Medals of Honor awarded to combatants in the 1890 massacre of Lakota women and children at Wounded Knee would stand. (The previous SecDef had ordered a review after years of controversy.) Hegseth called the recipients "brave soldiers."
3. Dear Leader announces that he is sending troops to "War ravaged" Portland, Oregon, authorizing "Full Force, if necessary." (The mayor and the governor oppose this characterization and action.)
If protests against ICE are acts of war, what about any other protests? If Dear Leader can declare war on anything he dislikes, how big a step to martial law and no elections?
And if the military is assured that, however heinous and immoral the orders they are given, they will be rewarded for following them, will we see more massacres of innocents?
And will that "pep talk to the generals and admirals include a loyalty oath to Dear Leader? Hitler called his top brass together for such a purpose.
Three things. How are they related?

Closer and closer to the edge.
Meanwhile, the First Felon golfs.
What next? it is hard not to be afraid, but they use fear to reach their goals.
All very worrying, and I think the UK is drifting in a similar direction with the right wing surging in the polls. People are so blind and gullible.
Y'all aren't alone at feeling fretful about this meeting, by a long shot. They're up to no good, whether or not the meeting is a direct part of their evil machinations. But on one of her recent YouTube pieces ("Let's talk about Hegseth's general convention....", 26 September) Belle does suggest other possible reasons for the meeting, and while I am not fully reassured (nor is she), I feel an inch or two further back on the ledge we're all kinda sitting on.
Does everyone here follow Belle of the Ranch on YouTube? The channel used to be "Beau of the Fifth Column", but he got pretty burned out and his wife took over. Believe me, the channel is worth following -- three or four brief episodes per day, five minutes long at most, analyzing and explaining aspects of the day's news in a style aimed at those who are caught in the right wing information bubble. For the record, Belle is a retired military officer and nurse, and she speaks her mind, sometimes with a quiet sarcasm sharp enough to etch the screen you're looking at. I commend her to your attention.
