Sunday was a lovely warm day to be outside. I spent some time digging these steps out from the dirt and leaves and twigs accumulated over several years and did a few other bits of garden tidying.
Forsythia is such a glory against a perfect blue sky.
Foolhardy daylilies and Siberian iris are venturing out -- don't they know it's March and we can still have snow?
A single hyacinth . . .
A bluejay's feather . . .
Tender lilac leaves . . .
Bleeding heart . . .
More forsythia . . . and some columbine.
Cooler weather is moving in, alas.

You really are having spring! I've got about 4 crocuses that have bloomed but our forecast is saying 8-14 inches of snow tomorrow. Sigh
Perhaps we should start having a name for this false early spring, like we've had Indian Summer forever...we keep having poor plants responding to early warm spells each year, then bam, here comes winter again. March is so different these days than it used to be...just my thinking.
Oh Vicki, this post gives me hope. Right now I'm preparing for nor'easter. They are calling for 40-60 cms. of snow. I have candles, flashlights and lots of groceries in. We know in Canada Spring will arrive sometime mid or late May. xx
We will have to settle for flowers in the house for quite awhile yet.
