A family visit this past weekend and we enjoyed getting to see these two cousins having fun together.
Launching paper planes from the loft overlooking the living room . . .
It was just as much fun for them as it was, thirty-some years ago for our boys and their cousin (the dad and the uncle of these two.)
The last time this crew visited, Jack (the older boy) walked up the quarter mile of road from Justin's house to our house in the very early morning before any of the grownups were awake.
This time it was Asher's turn to make the hike by himself -- surprising everyone, including his dad who hadn't seen him leave -- but who followed soon after, bringing Jack too. Asher felt, I think, that he'd joined the Big Boy club.
We are happy that the boys can have a little unsupervised adventure in their lives. More memory building for the third generation to enjoy the farm. . .

Cute kids!
So nice for these boys to have a place in the countryside where to simply "play" and "explore".
How lovely! And adventures too. When my boys grew up and told me about their adventures, it was a bit of a surprise to say the least! But as you say, they have to grow up and they need those adventures to assist them in the growing up process.
What a great story about cousins, and they are making their own!
How lucky those two lads are!
Lots and lots of memories will stay with them.

Happy days, Vicki!
Running up those stairs for the launching and down for the retrieval must be great exercise. How wonderful to have a bit of freedom in a safe place.
It looks like paradise for kids.
