The big event of the weekend is over but, like aftershocks following an earthquake, new words and images keep appearing. Justin's older brother Ethan posted a really lovely piece about the wedding on his blog.
And these four night pictures were taken by our photographer friend Cory (his website is HERE) from up on a ridge behind Justin and Claui's house.
The weird wormy-looking things are time lapse -- oops, Cory says these photos are long exposures, shutter open for about 60 seconds each. Quite different from time-lapse photography
in which one takes multiple images with time missing between each
frame, in order to make a video that appears to move in faster than life
speed --photography, tracing the path of big fire balloons that were released in celebration of Claui's niece's 16th birthday (which coincided with the wedding.)
It was magical, to say the least.

Really neat pictures.
Wow!!!
ha. what cool pictures....first the rather glow around your compound...and then the time lapse worms....very cool...
INCREDIBLE pics!! Whoever had the idea of photographing the event from up on the ridge is a genius.
Spectacular!
Amazing pictures! How in the world did the photographer manage to get up that high in the dark?
Probably it was all that champagne, Merisi (ducking.)
Oh the photos are amazing! But I LOVED the story of this perfect wedding!! So glad to read that - thank you!
Thanks for the links, especially Ethan's. It all looked like a wedding we would have enjoyed, full of family and friends, full of love, and completely unpretentious. Ethan's right; it's the human element that makes life special.
Fire balloons and a bonfire...oh,it must be wonderful to not have to worry about forest fires! The photos are magical, I love that blue glow of twilight contrasting with the warm colors of the fire and electrical lights.
Looks spectacular, doesn't it. What a great event that was and followed by the Easter egg hunt!
