At Last!

After weeks of bone dry weather, on Saturday night we had a half inch of rain and yesterday another half inch.
The brown pastures have already begun to green a bit; the fall garden is rejoicing; mist was rising yesterday evening . . .

A welcome reprieve -- and more on the way!

There is nothing quite like rain to refresh and revive our surroundings and our souls!

We had a weird, very local storm with welcome rain after 100+ week. This morning I needed a jacket.............hooray! Being so connected with outdoors means that you, especially, relish the rain!

It's been a long time coming, for you. I'll bet you can hear those plants sighing with relief.

Rain is so very beautiful after a long period without, and at other times as well.

Ha! blessed water. Your plants, flowers and animals will rejoice in it! It rained on my garden in Tennessee too, I'm glad to hear!

I'm late getting here and had just asked if you were getting rain. Lucky you!

Yea! We, too, have RAIN! About 3.5 inches so far! Just in time, too. Everything was wilting badly. Lots more rain to come. Thanks you TD Lee.

We've been rejoicing over the rain too. I swear I could hear the ground sucking it up : )

Sunday night brought much needed relief for us. Will that green tomatoe still ripen this year? My Grandma always made green tomatoe preserves with the end of year crop. It was so good! I wonder if I have that recipe somewhere...

I'm trying to decide if I'm disappointed that we didn't get the entire 6-10 inches we were promised! Guess not, that probably would have caused all sorts of problems. 2 1/2 inches of glorious rain at my house. It was so nice, just listening to the rain come day... peaceful.
