I'm off this afternoon to drive with Claui to Charlotte where we'll spend the night in order to get to the airport Very Early for our flight to California. I'm taking my camera but not my laptop so you likely won't hear from me till next Wednesday.
Claui's visiting a friend in Berkeley and she suggested I come along and go see my dear friend Josie who moved from Asheville to Santa Cruz. I dithered, as I almost always do when spending money is involved and Claui just went on and bought me a ticket. So, off I go!

Claui is, of course, not only my friend but my daughter-in-law to be.
As for the flying machine -- all I know is it's a picture I found on the internet. Pretty cool, though!

While you're there, enjoy some of those really great, inexpensive, California wines that never make it this far east.
