San Francisco - Day 3

I'm heading home today, taking with me lots of memories of this beautiful city and all the wonderful fans and writers I've met and chatted with...
As you can see, I'm fascinated by the abstract beauty of tall buildings...
It's a change of pace for my mostly rural blog ...

And here's a little slide show --  more of the city and some shots from the conversation between Rhys Bowen, Deborah Crombie, and Louise Penny. Plus a photo of the amazing cioppino Karen Buys, Vicki Van Valkenburgh, and I enjoyed at San Francisco's oldest restaurant. Oh, and a pair of cheerful window cleaners.

I'm sitting in the Oakland airport waiting to board the plane. Looking forward to getting home ... though I wouldn't have minded exploring a bit more -- even the shuttle ride through Berkely on the way to the airport was fun -- such wonderful houses and bougainvilla blooming everywhere. And every sort of enticing ethnic restaurant . . . yes, I'd like to have the time (and money) to wander a while out here,

Calling my flight...

Great photos of one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vicki. An uncle of mine lived there for about 60 years. I'd love to live there myself, earthquake or not.

Lovely pictures of San Francisco. I like abstract too. It's so different from rural, isn't it!
Have a safe trip home.

Fun to travel, and fun to come home... and what a beautiful area you live in. Btw, I am swinging by the bookstore tomorrow to buy a book of yours. I need some relaxation time!

You photos are beautiful. My daughter was born in San Francisco and the following day there was an earthquake. My husband placed the newspaper headline next to her and we sent photos to my family in France saying that because of her birth the earth shook! Unfortunately later we were burglarized and they took the pictures.
I understand what you mean about the beauty of tall buildings as I just came back from New York City and looking at them, in daytime or at night, they look so splendid.

Trying to catch up here, Between potato digging and my writing class and laundry I'm having a hard time getting around to visit my blog friends.

Thanks to all of you for stopping by! Margaret, I hope you enjoy the books! Great story, Vagabonde, about your daughter's birth. I kept wondering if there would be an earthquake or even a tremor while I was there and was just as happy there wasn't.
