Like snowflakes . . . each one unique.

You know, Vicki, I love the way leaves show themselves, tentatively in the Spring. Then, with the confidence of Summer, they shade and rustle, before going out in a blaze of glory. Nice photographs.

Gorgeous photos Vicki..and yes each one quite individual. The older I get the more I marvel. I have just put a post that I have finished reading SIGNS IN THE BLOOD. I feel I know those people.. Elizabeth, Birdie, Little Sylvie and all. How do you manage to organise all those threads.

Your photos are wonderful, each one of them. I love the showiness of auntumn and all it's glorious colours.
Reading Joan's comment - I too have spent some of the afternoon with Elizabeth, Miss Birdie and Little Sylvie. Right now I am wondering just what Elizabeth is getting herself into and I am feeling very sorry for Miss Birdie and most especially Little Sylvie!

As a writer and a photographer, Vicki, you might enjoy reading about a project science fiction author Michael Swanwick (a friend of mine in our college years) did recently: writing a story on leaves.

Literally.

Out in a blaze of glory, it is, indeed, Martin!

Joan -- Organizing those threads is the hair-pulling part of the work, Joan! And in the case of SIGNS IN THE BLOOD, it might interest you to know that the Little Sylvie story was an afterthought -- added because my editor thought the present day story wasn't enough...

Markin -- That was quite a project! I love to think of the word leaves being blown about and puzzling people.

I love The Day of Small Things!! I couldn't put it down, Birdie sure did have a time of trouble.
Of course, I also enjoy all of your pictures. I would like the recipe for that triple chocolate
"30,000 calorie" cake. It would be perfect for a church social, with just a little slice for myself.

I so love Fall.

Thank you Vickie - all that is left of leaves here are the ones I have in a basket in the kitchen. I never get tired of looking at them, and the green in the spring after a loooong winter is eye candy as well.

These do look familiar. :). Loved the hiking, the basilica, the downtown, the bookstore where I purchased your books! I could so see us living there someday.

(Je ne sais pourquoi, la mise à jour de mes publications pour les habitués ne paraît plus-apparemment depuis que j'ai changé de présentation)
