On Reynolds Mountain

I met with a book club last Thursday up on Reynolds Mountain -- an elegant development not far from downtown Asheville.

I got these pictures as I was leaving . . .

As I've said before, I try always to take my camera with me in case there's an elephant.

Or a really nice view.

There was no elephant but there was a bear. Spotted out in the driveway, while we were discussing The Day of Small Things. We all ran to the window to watch the handsome fella snuffling along.

And my camera? In my car. Out in the driveway.

Dang!

Too bad for the elephant... and for the bear...

When I lived in Alberta it was common to see a bear this time of year. Some would go into back yard garbage cans. They say we have them in NB, but I've yet to see one. I'm fine with that. xx

This made me laugh out loud. It reminded me of the time we were in San Francisco. We had done all of the touristy stuff but decided to make a quick trip back to China Town for some lace. I left the camera at the hotel since we had already taken all of the pictures we could possibly want. We ran smack dab into the middle of a full blown China Town parade with dragon heads and everything you might expect. No camera.
