Lots of granite around. There's got to be critters that live in or around that pile of stones? That last shot seems to be a shot gun blast. Just checking out your aim?
Looking at this group of photographic images releases lots of possible story lines in my imagination, Vicki. I'm wondering if you ever use such a group of pictures in any of your writing workshops?
Of course, it's that last photo that punctuated the story I was imagining.
That is, indeed, what remains of a long ago shotgun blast on an old corn crib. It was there when we moved here almost forty years ago. I suspect someone was shooting a varmint that was after the corn.
The rocks are some of Justin's scavenged building materials -- the bench is a product of said scavenging.
Frances, I do use pictures as writing prompts -- usually pages I've torn from magazines. But I bet Miss Birdie could make a story of this sequence.

Love the cow/fence/landscape shot. Wish I could see it in person.
Bench is great! Who says Wordless Wednesday is the only place where words are superfluous?

The altar of sacrifice! Good of bad omen?
