Writers on the Rock

Yesterday  Chimney Rock Park hosted a gaggle of writers. We were set up under tents  at the foot of the rock where an enthusiastic group listened to us read from and/or talk about our books.

Here, Robert Morgan, whose beautiful novel Gap Creek was an Oprah Book Club pick, entertains the crowd.

While the non-bookish tourists do their thing.

A fine day and I was delighted to encounter a few FaceBook friend (hey Bud and Jen) as well as Lorena, a friend of a FaceBook friend and a fellow graduate of  H.B. Plant High School in Tampa.

Lake Lure in the distance . . .

And, of course, the Rock.

Glad you had a sunny day...before the rains came...but it's so nice and cool this morning. Connections!

We haven't been there since the renovations. Of course, your old post from your friend about the phallic nature of the rock has changed my perspective of it forever.
