Into Every Life ...

The clouds rolled in yesterday bringing chilly, blustery weather. And 'they're givin' rain' for today.

No matter -- we know what April showers bring...
Two small chuckles I'd like to share.  (I think I've mentioned that I'm easily amused.)

One, as I was eating lunch yesterday, I was startled to hear a news report that seemed to say three concubines had exploded... never did get that one sorted out.

And then, oh joy, I was editing a paper from one of my writing students and came to the line that said a rapist had been found dead with his tentacles removed. . .

I am so tickled that you happened to stop by my blog the other day. Our daughter and I are eager readers and your books are going straight onto our interlibrary loan list.

The two stories are, no doubt, the result, first of my partial deafness and second, of a misguided spellcheck. But I take my chuckles where I find them.

Welcome, threecollie! I enjoyed visiting your part of the world -- I have family up in your area.

The rain is supposed to be in eastern North Carolina today. I looked for your explosion story but didn't come up with anything. However, one headline did catch my attention: Lightning Zap Penguins. That was upsetting, since I love penguins, but when I called up the article, it was about two hockey teams.... Lastly, maybe the rapist was an octopus?? :o)

My poor dog was sitting on my lap as I read this and just got a coffee bath. Shame on you!

I'm not sure which was funnier, but I lean towards the tentacles. Yikes!

I loved the chuckles. I'm easily amused as well. We have bright sunlight this morning after a night of thunder storms and rain.

Well, the showers will keep you indoors so you can catch up with those chores you may have neglected on all the lovely days when you were outdoors ;)

Thanks for the chortles!

... I hesitate to bring this up in such polite company, but ... tentacles might have been the right word:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tentacle_erotica

"The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife" by Hokusai (he of the famous wave) is a prime example.

[blush]

Actually, being a tad hard of hearing myself, I find the disconnect between what someone says and what I hear sometimes rather comical (even if more often rather frustrating), and find subtitles generated by voice recognition software to be a grand source of amusement. You have my complete sympathy.
