Forsythia - re-post

Shawled in morning fog,
The distant mountain sleeps -- no
Shout disturbs its peace.

The shoots of the forsythia, thick with yellow flowers, are like fireworks exploding, spiralling outwards in joyous abandon.

It seems to me that the sight of all that golden glory should rightfully be accompanied by glad shouts -- something like the verse from Job --"The morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy."

Forsythias - my personal marker of hope and renewal. First signs of springs arrival always bring a big smile to my face. I adore this gorgeous shout for joy plant.

Yes there is something almost outrageous about that mass of yellow : it's as if the pigment factory was on overtime.

Lovely photos. I swear I think the Forsythia is prettier and brighter this year than I've ever seen it before.

Through the years, all us kids had our childhood photos taken in front of mom's forsythia bush. By the time we had our graduation photos taken in front of the same bush, it was taller than we were.
