Some Sylva Shots

The sun was about to rise when I pulled out of our driveway yesterday morning at about a quarter of seven and, through mountain magic, it was about to rise as, an hour and a half later, I parked my car to walk to the site of the book fair. (During my drive I saw at least four more sunrises that, what with highway traffic and a plethora of power lines, I was unable to photograph. They were all beautiful -- trust me.)

Here's a web album of random shots from yesterday -- today's another busy one with a lunch party for the new grandnephew and his parents. I'll talk about the book fair and the panel I was on another day.

Vicki, that "mountain magic" is one of my favorite things about living in the mountains.

As always, beautiful photos!

As I mentioned previously, sometimes the world seems entirely composed of power lines and other obstructions. The first photograph in this post could be a poster for a 'road' movie.

Enjoy lunch!

Hi Vicki, so sorry I couldn't spend more time with you yesterday. AND I discovered I hadn't brought new batteries for my dig. camera, so no photos from me. I wrote poems for a lot of dogs--St. Bernard, Corgis, mutts (the majority), babies, and little girls. It was fun. I'll be posting about that later.

Love the mountain magic. Our mornings almost begin with fog. Hope you're having a great weekend.

So sorry I missed the Book Fair. I got a GI virus and spent most of the night sitting in a recliner and reading. Oh, what was I reading? OLD WOUNDS. I'm hooked on your great series. Ay lawdy, you can tell a story!!! I tried to pace myself, but I just can't put your stories down.

I couldn't believe all the sunrises! It seemed to be dodging around and peeping over the ridges at every turn.

It was great to see you, however briefly, Kay! I love the idea of your writing poems on demand and will look for your post.

Quel bummer, Mountainwoman! But I'm glad Elizabeth could entertain you in your time of trial.
