Bad Moon on the Rise

I took this picture a few nights ago and just loved it. So ominous and looming. But I couldn't think of anything to say about it because of the song playing in my head.

So here it is.

And how many people originally heard the lyrics as "there's a bathroom on the right?" Now I always get a laugh at myself when I hear that song.

Lovely picture, Vicki! Until the clouds came the moon has been beautiful this month.

This song takes me back to a small garage converted to an apartment on a back alley in Iowa City. John was in grad school at the university and I was trying to stay warm, cooking stuff from Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and reading, reading, reading. Creedance Clearwater Revival was in almost constant play during that time. Actually, it seems like a golden age, indeed.

And yes, I remember the bathroom on the right.

Thanks, Kaye, Reader Wil, and Miss Yves.

Folk music? Hmmm, I guess in a way. I really don't know where CCR fits.

Ahh -- for what it's worth, Wikipedia says they're a rock band -- of the Southern rock, country rock,or swamp rock persuasion. So, there you have it.

I couldn't play it. I mean I wouldn't play it, because I have enough trouble with that song playing along in my mind, without outside encouragement. :-) It is a cool song though. I was a little too late on the scene to get the full effect of the 60s/70s music, but I heard quite a bit from my teenage sister listening to it. I'm an 'oldies' fan now and that is the kind of music I mostly listen to.
(and the picture is cool too!)

Hey, Tammy, Sam, and Star -- Truly, that song was all I could think of when I looked at that moon pic.

I'm actually really proud of the shot -- I didn't have a tripod but rested the camera on a window sill and tried very hard not to jiggle during the longish exposure time.

If you biggify the pic, you can see a crater or two -- how cool is that!

I love the song (and Creedence Clearwater Revival). Fits perfectly with the moon photograph.
