I'm a firm believer of "making my own sunshine". As our third winter here on top of a mountain in WNC approaches, I know to expect numerous days without a peep from the sun. As part of my morning routine I recite my affirmations between songs I find motivational. Last December I added "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves as I started missing something as simple as sunshine in my days. This winter might just be a little brighter... I wouldn't miss the color orange very much. One can hope.

Thumbs up for the moon and roof.
These are all so haunting. They really inspire poetry. I know you write mysteries. Are you ever tempted to write poetry?
These images are so evocative of your season, turning to the dark even as we in the antipodes brighten into the light.
