I can easily imagine the fall scents too.

What kind of berries are those? Hope you didn't have any damage from the storms. My mom had the roof on her barn partially torn off and they were without power for awhile.

Those are berries on a Virginia Creeper vine. We had a hard rain (3 inches) but no damage, thank goodness.

Many leaves have left, thanks to downpour. Your slopes look very green still! I'm surprised. I know ours still are, and we're lower than you. But I can now look through the maple branches to see mountain ridges across the valley. The steps of nature reveal everything in time.

The rain does refresh everything. We have a lot of downed and broken trees all over our community. Our little creek eroded a good bit of the banks and we have some limbs down but otherwise escaped the damage found elsewhere. What a strange day it was with the heavy wind and rain in the morning and then the calm and sunny late afternoon.

Your neck of the woods is so beautiful Vicki. We have had record temps. here in Southern California. In excess of 100F for two days and predicted to be 98F today. Our favorite fall color is brown.
