Words and pictures from the author of the Elizabeth Goodweather Appalachian Mysteries and the forthcoming And the Crows Took Their Eyes . . .
I've enjoyed some mystery stories with cats, written by them, or perhaps just about them. But the cat, ah, that's the biggest mystery of all. What a monster, what a lover, what a demanding thing, what a caring thing, and what on earth seems to motivate them!
It's like living with aliens from another dimension.
We had a Siamese cat once. But he thought he was a dog. Seriously. He acted like a dog. He was super affectionate like a dog. He followed us around like a dog. And if you didn't feel well, he was right by your side like a dog. We still miss him.
A great mystery. Specially the part where we do whatever they want even if they aren't particularly nice.
