Slipping Into Grandparent Mode . . .

Yesterday John and I both got to hold Josie!

She was unimpressed, sleeping through the whole time we were there.

The news continues to be excellent -- she has to stay in hospital till she's finished the seven day course of antibiotics -- but she seems to be quite healthy and exhibiting all the proper reflexes for a young lady of three days.

Justin and Claui are getting more and more comfortable with dealing with her -- and we all agree she is pretty much perfect.

If all goes well, they should be able to come home Monday or Tuesday.

I am so impressed by the level of care at Mission -- and the willingness of doctors and nurses to take their time and explain things at length. Had this been an attempted home birth, Josie would likely not have made it as the C-section was performed just in time.

We are so grateful.

Oh Vicki, a granddaughter! How precious.
I don't get to see your posts as I stopped getting notifications ever since Google stopped recognising my email, so I have to remember to drop in. Glad I did!

She's just lovely, and just look at the love generated between the 5 of you! It's just soaring off the screen! So very glad to have modern medicine when these miracles of saving lives matter! The old ways are great, but sometimes the new ways are just the ticket.

What a thrill it must be to hold her! She is absolutely gorgeous. I look forward to more pictures as she grows, crawls, learns to stand and walk. I hope Justin and Claui realize their daughter has a big internet fan club already, pulling for her and eagerly waiting for news and pics.

So glad little Josie is responding well to the antibiotics. And especially glad that you were able to hold her. Haven't had a chance to hold my little granddaughter but I can't wait. I know all of you will breathe a sigh of relief and thanksgiving when Josie is home.
