I haven't let the kittehs near the snake skin -- in the pastm cats have tried to eat similar skins.
The snake is a what we call a blacksnake -- more properly an Eastern Rat Snake, I think. He or she makes use of that lattice in the green house several times a year to shed its skin. It's just a tad shy of six feet long and I'm happy to have it around as they eat copperheads.

That's quite the snakeskin!
I wonder what the kittehs think of that snakeskin...
Oooooh Vicki, that snakeskin is scary. Yes, I also wonder if the kittehs feel the same.
However, the hen and chick in the prior post have stolen my heart. I hope they will avoid area predators who might not share my affection for them.
Happy weekend! xo
sneaky snake came out of his skin when he saw that big tan cow. What was the snake? Rattler or king snake?

That's a good-sized snake. Perfect for killing mice and other snakes.
fun farm photos. It is good to see the tour. We have snake skins left from our bigger garter snakes.
