A Little Studio Crawl

One evening after supper, I wandered through some of the studios. Quite a few people opt to work well into the night -- the quilters were especially busy,

Most quilters were working on 'story quilts, many with elaborate borders. This one below is awaiting its story...

It's a wonderful studio with great big design walls.

And plenty of room to spread out.

The next studio was not as busy -- just one or two weavers, working on their projects.

In the next group of studios, some potters were still at work . . .

The joy of creating things . . .

The jewelry-making instructor showed a ring he'd just completed

And bracelets he'd made . . .

.

His hatband was decorated with miniatures of the tools of his trade

Thanks for sharing!

"plenty of room to spread out."
On the contrary, the lady I met told me she needs not plenty of room : she tidies up everything under her bed in her bedroom!
And she never uses a sewing-machine.

What a lot of often unsung creative geniuses there are in this world.
An amble through these studios must be a real spirit lifting experience.

So much room to exercise with one's skills and with one's own desires... a dream.

Oh my, pottery studio nearly vacant...but some interesting hand building happening. When I first was learning I was in the studio every hour it was open. But then again, there were evenings when potters gathered to socialize frequently! They are an agreeable bunch. Lovely fabrics!

I do so admire the creative genius of all those artisans. And, of course, all the gifted writers.

Very interesting pictures Vicki. Larry was interested in the woven bags. He's looking for something different to do all the time now he has perfected the straight pieces.

Vicki, I'm glad that you took a camera along with you on this studio tour. It seems as if there is quite a variety of creative media attracting talented folks.

I do like everything that you've shown us here, but perhaps my vavorites are those silvery hatband decorations in the last photograph.
