Fast Forward to May --- As the Temperatures Plunge

This is, perhaps, my way of putting my hands over my ears and singing
"La la la -- Winter, I don't hear you."

Well, these photos are gorgeous, but I bet you won't be taking anything like that tomorrow, or however long this latest plunge lasts. Stay warm!

you're still soooo good in writing your regular blog posts! i am writing one book after the other and mainly feeding my (other) aromatherapy blog. hoping that in five year's time, when I will be sixty, I might earn enough royalties to stop doing the "normal" work (i.e. flying over to switzerland, austria and germany to teach aromatherapy - so sick of airplanes and airports and the worst: security checks). anyway, my blogger-diary is still alive (despite our still slow internet access) and I am glad that I can look back to many a blog post and pictures from so many of my journeys and impressions from my now 15 years home in Ireland. best wishes across the ocean, eliane

Ah, I want so much to immerse myself in May right about now. Can't say I've ever longed for February quite the same way.

Me too. I dreamed I was picking strawberries in the garden last night. Ten degrees and 30 mile an hour winds are not conducive to garden work. Perhaps I'll fantasize with the catalogs today!

Sometimes it feels hard to believe we will get there again.

Your photos are lovely and inspiring, Vicki. However, just this minute I am going to change from my cotton socks to cosier hand-knit wool socks. My toesies know the difference.

February does seem extra long this year, so it seems like a good idea to think about May. Especially tantalizing is the photo of the spring food. Hope it warms up for you soon, Vicki.

Are those morels?

Those are, indeed, morels. We get them sometimes in one particular spot in our orchard.

It seems the polar grip of winter will not loosen. We are ready to return north and had intended to go home via Charleston, SC, but it looks like we will have to spend another week or so down here in FL. If denial could help everyone in New England should do so.
