Oh yes sir ree sir rah...Crisco for pie crusts. I also made biscuits with it very successfully. Yummy those left over scraps of crust, but my mom would roll them up jelly roll style. then slice em.
Sweet, simple post…lovely. And brought back memories, too! Whenever us kids were visiting grandma, she always made us a batch of pie-crust cinnamon rolls in addition to the actual pies.
Love your mountain photographs, with the sun hitting them. Reminds me of the Radio Station in Hendersonville. Call Letters: WHKP "WHERE THE HEAVENS KISS THE PEAKS" I was only six or seven in 1946 or 1947 when my father and others started the station. I contribute the call letters to my father but am not real sure of that. Your photos and books bring back so many childhood memories
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas Vicki. I wish you lots of love, joy and happiness in the coming new year! Just love homemade pies! We're finishing off a yummy buttermilk pie right now.

Yum, I would love some of those little bites of pie crust. My favorite part of the pie is the crust.
Happy Boxing Day.

My grandmother did exactly the same thing for me. I stopped making pie crust when Pillsbury got their refrigerated dough just right.
