Words and pictures from the author of the Elizabeth Goodweather Appalachian Mysteries
These two remind me of little knights, challenging each other in their respective colours.
I didn't realize that was a woodpecker. Cute pictures!
Enough for everyone but selfishness is a must sometimes...
That's a red-bellied woodpecker and they are fiercer than the blue jays.
hahaha cute and pretty
o such danger and intrigue at the bird feeder...lol...fun interaction vicki...
Vicki, I didn't know about the ferocity of the red-bellied woodpecker. Guess that jay was making a wise strategic exit.Your photos are extraordinary!xo
Our woodpeckers rule here too!
Delightful. What kind of lens did you use?
My lens is a Nikkor 18-200mm, Kath.
Since I do not particularly like Blue Jays and since I LOVE Red-bellied Woodpeckers, this post is perfect! And Blue Jay...you don't stand a chance.
Lucky healthy birds to have sunflower seeds!
Neat pics and so cute conversation!... love it!..JJRod'z
You take such good pictures of birds. I see the woodpecker and cardinals out of our kitchen window but there is a screen on it and the camera focuses on the screen. No snow here yet – we are in the mid 50s today with full sun – I hope we get at least a day of snow this year.
*giggles*Arnie's been around Austria a lot these days. Now I shall always think of a Blue Jay when I spot him. ;-)
