Something Happened Here . . .

. . . or so it seems to me.

Before my visit to the Mountain Magnolia (yesterday's post,) I drove into the grounds of what was once The Mountain Park Hotel, the grand resort that will be the main setting for the 1887 part of Under the Skin.

Nothing remains of the grand hotel (which burned long ago) but this odd clump of rocks caught my eye.

Looks to me like a perfect setting for strange goings on . . . with the DeVine Sisters in the past and with Gloria and Elizabeth in the present.

I can see I'm going to have to go back to Hot Springs.

Well Vicki, it certainly is an intriguing place! What drama could have happened there? Could it have been a hidingplace of some wandering soul? May be if you return on a dark night, you could discover more of the secret behind or under the rock.

WOW! Love those rocks! Maybe it was a lovers lane sitting area. How far from the old hotel is it?
I think is a wonerful setting for some action!

When I got out and walked around, the rocks has a rather creepy vibe to me. And I kept thinking of Stonehenge. I'm going to do a little research and find out what I can.

Return on a dark night? Hmmm -- not sure my zeal for research will carry me that far but it's a thought.

Vicki, I like Reader Wil's idea. I'd volunteer to go with you but, sadly, I'm waaaay out here in California. Darn. (Whew!)

You know, my imagination is such that were I to go there in the dark I'd be on the lookout for everything from Raven Mockers to ancient Druids to the random psychopath. Don't believe it's going to happen -- at lest, not me alone. I might end up in a temporal warp or in the midst of a Blair Project type thing, endlessly wandering round those stones . . .

Vicki, I hadn't thought about the RM'S in years. You should never say their whole name as it might draw one to you. Although I think Dad, who used to terrify me with stories about them, meant never speak their name in Cherokee, I don't think you can be too careful. Who knows...they might have become bilingual! Hee hee...gulp. :-o

After working for years as a Probation Officer, I still think I'd rather face the random psychopath than an RM!

Victoria, you'll be thrilled to hear that RMs play a significant role in the forthcoming DAY OF SMALL THINGS.
