Random Bits

We get lots of rainbows -- this one was especially low. Once we had a tiny one, stretching from the barn, across our drive way, and into the pasture. We haven't found the gold yet.

But the butterflies have found the butterfly bush . . .

Biggify to see the half-rainbow emerging from the trees on the left. . .

At the back door, a Georgia O'Keefe sort of grouping. . .

Stormy evening sky . . . more rain ahead.

I love rainbows and we've sure had our share with all the rain we had lately. Some big, some small, some appear for just a few seconds, but all beautiful.

Nice collection of pictures to enjoy over my morning cup of coffee.

Welcome, flying stars! I enjoyed my quick trip to India this morning, via your blog!

Raining here this morning, Pat. We had an inch yesterday. All the trees and pastures are so thankful -- as am I.

I didn't discover a single butterfly on our giant butterfly bush, what's wrong in Ireland's nature? probably to much weed killer and similar stuff around, farmers are so proud that they can afford that crap, it's such a pity. in our village glengarriff they sprayed several kilometres along both sides of the main road, the weeds don't vanish though. they just are burnt and brown and look worse than before. pure stupidity.

I think the gold might just be your lovely, lovely homestead. Thanks for sharing the pictures--we've had quite a few rainbows here this year too.

Hi, Kaye -- looking forward to reading Margaret Maron's piece tomorrow over at your place.

Eliane -- what a shame about the spray! They use it some in our area but mostly the roadsides are kept trimmed by a mechanical cutter,

Tammy -- Yep, I think the gold is all around us :-)

And two strange photos...

Thanks, Miss Yves -- I confess to a strange attraction to bones -- that's a cow skull.
