Haiku for August's End

Early morning fog
Lingers then lifts; Day proceeds,

Blooms fade; Time rolls on.

I'm always anxious for fall and new beginnings. The cool air brings me back to life.

LOVE the photos today Vicki! That first one makes me mountain homesick! I watched the new DYI Blog Cabin last night! It's near you in Little Pine Creek Reserve!!
Maybe I'll win it and be your neighbor part-time!! :)

Me too, Willow! Just about now the weeds have the upper hand and the garden is winding down -- fall sounds good.

Carol -- I saw an article about the cabin in a local publication. Looks really nice. Good luck with that entry!

Beautiful pictures, looks so serene. I'm having a hard time realizing that August, our 'hot' month is over. We have had some hot weather, but on the whole much cooler than normal temperatures. My 'to-do' list is getting longer by the moment as Autumn edges closer. It's dark now when I get up to do chores and the evenings are getting shorter....but I love the fall weather.

I have been a fan of Haiku since an inspirational 4th grade teacher introduced it to me. Tell Carol, I am winning that DIY blog cabin so don't bother entering!! HA! Thanks for the always lovely photos.

It's been a much cooler summer than usual here too, Tammy, but I'm enjoying that even cooler air. Getting ready . . .

And good luck to you too, Liz.

I love haiku -- the challenge of distilling your thought down to 17 syllables. Perfect for Twitter? I don't know -- I'm just not getting into ONE MORE THING on line. (She said firmly.)

Brilliant, Vicki! Lovely words and great photos, especially the misty one!
Thanks for your visit! I ordered two of your books! The two first! I am looking forward to reading them.

Thank you, Reader Wil. I hope you will enjoy my books!

Beautiful photos, lovely haiku. My favorite photo is the first one; I can't wait until it is cool and misty here. OK, what I really mean is I can't wait until it's cool and pouring down rain, bringing fire season to an end.

Beautiful images and haiku!

There's a crispness to the air around here, the light has changed, and the sun's become sweeter. I love late summer.
