Here and There

Paddlers on the river

Amaryllis gone to seed

A gaggle of geraniums

Josie tending to thirsty plants. . .

And a welcome afternoon rain that dropped the temperature considerably.

I've never seen an amaryllis gone to seed! Those are big seeds! Great shot of Josie watering plants. Which reminds me...mine are calling!

First time I've ever seen an amaryllis with seed pods. I've considered trying o keep one over winter to see if it will bloom the next year, but my orchids take up so much space that I never actually do it. So many amaryllis bulbs are dumped in the trash every year!

The seed pods are on an amaryllis that just recently re-bloomed. It wintered over in our mudroom which has an east-facing window. I've tried them in the greenhouse but they never rebloom.

I recently saw an amaryllis planted in a garden here. I always though they were indoor bulbs.

That is surprising--unless they dig it up for the winter. Or maybe it's another variety. Thet are hardy in Florida.
