They are a great wildflower (or so I consider them to be).

Hollyhocks always take me back to the days of my youth when I spent summer days with my Granny. She taught me how to make hollyhock dolls and I had hours of entertainment making up stories and holding fancy balls for the beautifully dressed dolls. Until, alas, they all succumbed to the heat. I'm sure you and Josie will spend many hours in the future keeping up the tradition of hollyhock dolls. And you seem to have a sufficient supply.

I love hollyhocks, and I really, really have always loved the word "dooryard."
