Finding My Inner Om

The need to keep popping Tums has gone but I'm still spending far too much time checking my email . . .

So yesterday I took a container of mixed fruit and had lunch in this small park on the little used River Road into Asheville.

Since I don't have a smart phone, the temptation was removed and I could enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

It was wonderful . . . and then I continued on in to Asheville for another post-op visit with the ophthalmologist.  The eye is doing great.

Someone said I ought to be writing rather than fretting and I am writing -- I think I mentioned before that I've been working on a series of interlinked stories set in present day Madison County. (I wrote four pages of one while in the waiting room before the cataract surgery.)

So it'll be fine . . . if I start feeling stressed again, I know where to go. And maybe I'll take my lap top. Pretty sure there's no internet in that little park.

That looks like a great place to find your OM!

It's good to disconnect once in a while. What we used to call taking time out to re-centre ourselves. That park looks like the ideal place to do some of that.

How lovely to have that natural, tranquil place to yourself. The look and sound of the water would encourage me to meditate.

Happy weekend, Vicki. xo

That reminds me of our Riverside park: a descriptive name but not terribly creative. :)

I can only imagine what this waiting is like. I suspect it's a bit like nearing the due date in a pregnancy. You know it's going to happen sooner or later but you just want it to happen NOW. Glad your eye is doing well.

Forget the advice others give you. Do whatever makes you happy. You deserve a break and some self-indulgence.

I guess I dont have enough stress in my life. OnLy my golf game. One Thing for sure. I dont have a mighty river in San Diego county. I could go to Carlsbad State Beach and watch the tide come in. You know "sittin on the dock of the bay" so to speak.

Vicki as long as you have your health your farm and John and the dogs, cats and the bovines, who could ask for more? Any way you are a wonderful writer and it will get published
