Autumn Approaches . . .

It's coming . . .

Fields of tobacco are golden and harvest-ready . . .

Some of the maples are beginning to turn . . .

Autumn Clematis (Virgin's Bower) is draping the roadsides . . .

Doubtless there'll be more hot weather before fall truly arrives but meanwhile . . .

There's corn, corn, and more corn . . .

Hints of the beauty to come!

I have to admit I'm not ready for winter, but I'm very ready for autumn and some cooler weather.

Wow, you sure had a bountiful corn harvest! It looks like it's going to be a beautiful fall there. Our poor trees are struggling so much from the lack of rain (over a year since any 'real' rain has fallen) I afraid to think what Autumn might look like...

I meant to say "I'm afraid" not "I afraid." I should go to bed...

It lets us even more appreciate each one of the summer's treasures. These pictures prove it beautifully.

AH, yes. It's always a little sad when the buckeyes drop their leaves in August. Fall is quickly on us.

One can never have too much sweet corn or home-grown tomatoes.

Yes, summer is winding down. The trees around here have taken on a dusky green with a few colored leaves here and there.

I love autumn in the mountains, especially October. We have had a really lovely summer.

Vicki, having not tasted a single kernal of 2014 corn, I do plan to take some ears home from my visit to tomorrow's farmers market.

Will report to you my review of the deliciousness.

Suddenly this week, after that brilliant full moon, I am aware that the daylight hours are shortening, and summer is in its fourth act. Perhaps it's the third act, because we should count early September (my birthday time) as part of summer.)

May I tell one more time how I appreciate my visits to your site? xo

We got monsoons here. "Devil beat his wife". We had more rain in 30 minutes than we have had all year. Wahoo!!
